Maggiolino Modena Show 16 December

Last weekend we attended a little Christmas meeting in Modena, a nice city in Emilia.

It was organized by Club Volkswagen Italia

We parked the VWs in the main square, under the Dome.

This is the California license plate I bought from Ebay, period correct and on a nice frame from Huntington Beach.

Many Italian meetings are an excuse to eat and drink like pigs...

and we don't have to make many efforts to adapt!

Please don't give me a microphone after too much wine...!

I received a prize, but it's only to encourage me to restore this rusty bus!


We met this young guy, his name is Felix (Cartacio) and he is from S. Domingo but has been living in Bologna for 10 years. He seems able to build the turbo motor for my doka...

After the birthday party at my place with some friends (I'm 33) on the 18th of November...

... we went to Germany on the following weekend (26-27 November) to pick up the doka and take it home. This is Udo's 'Werkstatt' in March (near Freiburg).

Udo showed us a Volvo to be chopped and other things...

We had a look also to the lastest issue of VW Speed (Jan 07) with a contest for the car of the year, and my Bug (The Goldfather) is in the list!

We had dinner in Emmendingen, in an almost-Christmas atmosphere.. wine... we still prefer Italian. Perhaps we did a bad choice. But we got 'happy' as well.. eheh

We slept in our nice usual Hotel in Emmendingen, the Markgraf Hotel. This was the view from our room in the morning of 27 November.

We left Germany for the 750km trip home

Adde sent gently two pieces of Der Steiner Rad for me just to have a look...

On Ebay I bought these two nice headlight grills from Germany.

I had to work on one of that to rebuild a clip. They feature slanted design and don't require any drilling or removing of glass.
